The Urantia Book, published in 1955, offers a unique version of planetary history and its own explanation of religious traditions regarding creation, Adam and Eve, Abraham, Melchizedek, and Jesus.

After describing the process by which a unique order of the "angels" implants the initial spark of physical life, The Urantia Book chronicles why and how gradual evolution, marked by periodic mutations, is God’s technique for creating human life. It details the genetic changes, migratory histories, and cultural development of humanity. New discoveries and scientific advances are increasingly catching up to The Urantia Book’s version of history. The most impressive corroborations relate to the Adam and Eve story. A Select Summary of UBtheNEWS Reports

Adam and Eve

Regarding Adam and Eve, both The Urantia Book and the Bible agree that a certain couple, living a long time ago in Mesopotamia, had a profound impact on humanity and that there were some behavior problems, causing them to leave their original location. As well, they both recount a story about Cain and Abel that ends badly and with Cain leaving for “the land of Nod.”

The Urantia Book says the first human beings (roughly corresponding to Homo erectus) evolved about 1,000,000 years ago. Adam and Eve, it says, lived about 37,500 years ago and were genetically different—superior—compared to the rest of humanity (roughly corresponding with Homo sapiens sapiens). It also says that their initial intention was to create their own “race” and culture, then share these genetic and cultural advantages with the rest of humanity.

The Urantia Book extensively covers this civilization’s growth, spread, and eventual absorption into the rest of humanity, providing specific information regarding time periods, places, degree of admixture with other races, and the impact on language and other aspects of culture.

Several recent genetics studies have produced results that closely parallel the Adam and Eve story in numerous ways, including the type of genetic changes that occurred, when, and their paths of migration into the rest of humanity.

The Garden of Eden

In explaining religious traditions about the “Garden of Eden,” The Urantia Book says it existed as a long, narrow peninsula that jutted off the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It also explains that this peninsula sank to the bottom of the sea about 33,000 years ago. Modern technology now provides us with detailed maps of the Mediterranean basin, which were not available when The Urantia Book was published.

The maps reveal an underwater landscape that matches up with all the details provided about the Edenic peninsula.

An Image Using Recent Technology

The location, between Cyprus and Syria, is exactly where three highly active tectonic plates converge. Tectonic plate theory was not invented until a decade after The Urantia Book was published. Numerous correlations make this report especially impressive.

Shroud of Turin

The Shroud of Turin Report is distinct from most UBtheNEWS reports because the Shroud is not an authenticated relic. But whatever it is and wherever it came from, there are certain aspects of the image that are very hard for scientists to explain. Some of these mysteries have intriguing correlations to what The Urantia Book says happened to Jesus’ body. 

The Urantia Book recounts that Jesus’ post resurrection appearances did not involve the reanimation of is material body. It says that, upon petition of the angels and to spare them the sight of its decay, his physical remains underwent a natural process of “elemental disintegration . . . except that . . . this natural mode of dissolution was greatly accelerated, hastened to that point where it became well-nigh instantaneous.” The image on the Shroud strongly resembles a corona discharge, the electrical phenomenon associated with the process of  photocopying. And the image is vertically distorted in a manner similar to what occurs with nuclear medicine imaging. Whatever a “well-nigh instantaneous” “elemental disintegration” of a body may entail, it is reasonable to expect that such a process might involve bursts of both electrical and radioactive discharge.
