Contributions made from this page go to the general fund for supporting UBtheNEWS. As a practical matter, because contributions at this point in time do not cover website expenses, funds remain with the webmaster to cover those expenses. When sufficient funds are being contributed to handle this expense, this message will be updated to reflect that development.
Financial Contributions:
Contributions to the UBtheNEWS project are, of course, very much appreciated. Because Mind, Body & Spirit has graciously offered to support this work, contributions can be made through them and, if done in that manner, they are tax deductible.
Clicking on the Contributions button will take you to a page that allows you to make contributions online by credit card and provides the address if you would like to send in a check.
Because I have been dedicating all of my time to this project and am constantly traveling around the country giving educational presentations about it, I do not maintain a residence. I live in a very small 1989 motor home. Consequently, the expenses for this project are very minimal. The regular expenses involve paying the webmaster, gas and maintenance expenses for the motor home, and paying for food and basic living expenses.
There is a Contributors List on this site for those who would like to be recognized for supporting this project. I think it provides credibility to this work for people to be able to see the UBtheNEWS project getting support from many people. Naturally, anonymous contributions are allowed and appreciated just as much. Whatever you want to do in this regard is perfectly fine.
If you would like to make a contribution that is earmarked for a particular aspect of the UBtheNEWS project, this desire can also be accommodated. Please call Halbert Katzen at (303) 589-1190 to make arrangements for this type of gift.
As of December 15, 2007, contributions (roughly $3,000) have covered approximately 15% of the total costs associated with the UBtheNEWS project. I have been giving this project all I have in terms of time and resources, but I am not Òindependently wealthyÓ and will not be able to continue this work for another year without a dramatic change in the level of community support. It requires about $1,700 per month to cover all necessary expenses.
Please consider the importance of having someone in our community doing this type of work on a full time basis. Coordinating all the activities associated with the UBtheNEWS project is an enormous job and efficiency will drop significantly if I am not able to give it my full attention.
Please support the UBtheNEWS project.
Thank you,
Halbert
