UBtheNEWS is an unprecedented opportunity to effectively and efficiently introduce The Urantia Book. The documentation for people unfamiliar with The Urantia Book of how science is catching up to it will eventually present such a compelling portrait of credibility, that everyone will want to know more about it. We are not far from this point. At the rate we have been going since the UBtheNEWS project started, in just two to four more years we will reach this point. Imagine the impact that 30 or 40 or 50 reports in terms of making a first impression regarding its credibility. The timeliness and the potentials for uplifting global culture that are inherent in this project presents an intensely soul-satisfy opportunity for service that is easy, educational, and fun!

Interest in helping to develop the UBtheNEWS project has been growing quickly. It is designed for grassroots participation and can readily make good use of everyone’s time and talents. The categories below provide information about various ways that you can help out. Don’t feel limited by these suggestions; if you have other ideas, contact Halbert.

Least Effort-Greatest Impact
Email the e-pamphlet! This extremely concise and intriguing introduction to The Urantia Book and the UBtheNEWS project delivers a powerful first impression. Complete with pictures of the Garden of Eden and now presenting five report summaries, it ignites the reader’s curiosity by asserting an extraordinary quality of credibility and then succinctly backing it up. People are happy to hear about the harmony between spirituality and science that is presented in The Urantia Book. It’s free, fast, and gives people a chance to consider the information privately.

A simple note will do, something short and sweet like: “This is very intriguing. I thought you might find it interesting.”

Then, as you are considering who to send it to, remember how important it is to believe in people. Honor and respect them as fellow truth-seekers. Be willing to err on the side of faith, trust, hope, and love and send it out to people. The downside is minimal; the upside is enormous; the time it takes is negligible.

Report Preparation
We can all learn how to keep our eyes peeled for recent research or discoveries that may help develop a new topic or enhance an existing report. Take a little time to become familiar with emerging topics and the already published reports. Identifying a new scientific discovery that corroborates The Urantia Book is a thrilling experience! This is not necessarily difficult or time consuming. Being able to identify a new often does not require scientific expertise; it usually just requires the willingness and some persistence.

Topic development is the most important aspect of this project. Maybe you are interested in a particular subject and would like to do some in depth research. If you can Google, you can help. Searching topics and reading through articles takes time, but at least it is an activity well suited for grassroots participation. Working collectively on topic development controls the pace of the UBtheNEWS project. Its success is most directly linked to the number of reports.

Project Development
“Waiting” for science to catch up to The Urantia Book and being on the lookout for new corroborations is great. But we don’t have to wait. The book gives clues about what to look for and where to find it.

The Adamson’s Civilization Project is one example. The Urantia Book says that vestiges of Adamson’s Civilization remain and where to look for them. If you would like to be involved with this project or if you have a particular area of interest that is ripe for proactive development and would like to be the contact person for developing that corroboration, contact Halbert.

Presentations
The UBtheNEWS slide presentation starts with a brief overview of The Urantia Book and an explanation of the UBtheNEWS project. It then provides a review of the reports, giving a detailed explanation about several of the more impressive ones. These presentations provide the most powerful and positive first impression we can possibly give someone of The Urantia Book.

Of course, a UBtheNEWS presentation is a great way to grow your study group, but also consider how you may be able to help set up presentations at other venues. Liberal Christian churches, New Age communities, UFO groups, and Theosophical Societies are examples of places that have already welcomed UBtheNEWS presentations and typically request a return engagement. You’re the one that knows about your area. Identify and set up presentations at all the communities that might appreciate an opportunity to learn about The Urantia Book’s unique quality of credibility. This helps to make all the traveling that Halbert does a far more efficient process.

If you live near a university and know any students or professors, this is one of the most important ways you can help. University campuses provide the best opportunities for outreach. Any networking you can do to get Halbert in touch with professors or students would be greatly appreciated. Do you know any college students anywhere in the country who might be open to organizing a UBtheNEWS presentation for their friends or in one of their classes? A little networking can go a long way!

This unprecedented outreach effort developed quickly and powerfully because Halbert took it on in classic “mission from God” style. He sold off everything he could to fund it and bought a very small motor home in order to be able to efficiently and inexpensively do outreach all across the United States. Halbert primed the pump, but it is up to all of us to keep the waters of this outreach effort flowing. Community support is absolutely essential. It is up to all of us to make sure that Halbert’s full time commitment continues to propel this project forward.

The project is all about giving people the most powerful and positive first impression possible of The Urantia Book. This is being accomplished through documenting its unique quality of credibility and then strategically implanting an outreach effort that focuses on communities, not just individuals. University campuses, liberal Christian churches, interfaith groups, and other progressive organizations are ready and willing to be introduced to The Urantia Book because of the objective and verifiable documentation of its extraordinary credibility. Probably, somewhere in this range a critical mass of quantity and quality will emerge and The Urantia Book will become readily accepted as uniquely credible.
