Getting involved with UBtheNEWS, contributing to this service opportunity, can happen in almost any way you like. From telling people about it one-on-one to organizing events for Urantia Book readers or non Urantia Book readers; from letting me know about a typo to researching and writing a report; from letting me know what researchers are on the cutting edge of the next corroborating discovery to making contact with the person yourself; from contributing a little money once to contributing a lot of money on a regular basis; it is really all up to you. Make yourself happy! Simply using this as a free service, educating one’s self about these developments, is even a part of the process of contributing to the success of this effort.

(In short order, what follows will be re-organized under the buttons. But for right now, with as new as this project is and being in the midst of a webhosting/webmaster switchover, we are not there just yet.)
Project Development: There is a lot of information in The Urantia Book that science has not yet caught up to. If you have any particular ideas or interests in moving something forward, this is the future of UBtheNEWS. Whether it is getting involved with a project that has already been started or inspiring/initiating a new one, please let me know what ideas you have for moving this work forward. Particular areas of interest at this point are in astronomy and with finding the remains of Adamson’s civilization. So if you’ve got your head in the stars or you happen to know any Iranians (or others that can help us develop interest in finding those remains which are in Iran) please let me know.
Study Group Tour Host: I sold off everything I could at the end of 2006, bought a small motor home, and hit the road so that I can inspire Urantia Book readers directly about this work (and so I can start to meet face-to-face with scholars who are on the cutting edge of the various areas of science that are ripe for the next corroborating breakthrough). I have experience with door-to-door canvassing for environmental and other socially progressive groups. Initiating conversations with people and then making a short, powerful presentation of information and ideas that leave them inspired and interested to get more involved is one of my talents. Many of us have grown accustomed to not sharing The Urantia Book because so many of our efforts have seemed “unsuccessful” and even embarrassing because introducing a book “written by angels” can be, shall we say, a little problematic.
Those days are over because of the science that now supports The Urantia Book. Generally speaking, most people are HUNGRY for the harmonization of spirituality and science. A spiritual book that has been ahead of science for over 50 years is unique and people are interested to learn about such a thing. But learning how to bring this up effectively nonetheless requires some development. I love being of service to Urantia Book readers in this way. Let me know if I can help. Writing, Editing, and Proofreading: Writing, editing, and proofreading articles, reports, and summaries, and compiling the Raw Data sections for topics all takes a significant amount of time. Networking: There are all kinds of different networking possibilities, of course. But in particular, I want to encourage people to start thinking about opportunities for me to make presentations to groups of non Urantia Book readers and to write articles for non Urantia Book reader publications. The Urantia Book is not what it used to be. It is not what it used to be because of the way that science has been catching up to the book. People need to be informed about this. Because of the work I am spearheading with the creation of UBtheNEWS there are opportunities to introduce me to others as someone who has expertise in this regard. In order for the doors to get opened to the broadest range of media opportunities that exist, we need to start knocking on those doors.
“Knock. Knock.” “Who’s there?” “Halbert.” “Halbert who?” “Halbert, the creator of UBtheNEWS.” It’s kind of funny the way life works. But this is not a joke. This is a real opportunity for outreach. Outreach opportunities in print media, on radio, on television, and for speaking engagements get developed much easier when the presenter is not the one making the first contact. Please consider how you can take advantage of this social dynamic.
The intrigue of this topic has a tendency to cross all cultural, religious, and political lines. The conversation is rooted in science and scholarship. The question is whether The Urantia Book has a reputation for being an early reliable source of accurate scientific and historic information. And the answer most certainly is “Yes.” Providing people with an efficient way to analyze this issue, either through a person or an article, is NEWS. |
