Updated 9/1/07

There are many ways to uplift and enrich one’s life. The question is: why go to The Urantia Book for such an experience? One aspect of that answer for some people will be because of the intriguing way that scientific and historical information in The Urantia Book is increasing getting corroborated by science over time.

UBtheNEWS is about engaging a process of inquiry. It is about the thrilling adventure exploring something that is new and emerging.

UBtheNEWS raises a question about what might be reasonable to believe given the weight of evidence. Is The Urantia Book what it claims to be? Is it a reasonably reliable source of information? There is no attempt being made here to prove something beyond all reasonable doubt. UBtheNEWS is not about putting The Urantia Book on trial.

Let’s not miss out on the process of a colorful question by trying to reduce the topic to a black and white answer at a particular point in time.

The Topic Summaries button on the home page will take you to a quick overview of all the reports. The Classification Descriptions button on the home page will help you use the site more efficiently by providing you with a review of why some reports are more impressive than others.

Topics are presented in the following format:

Summary: This section will provide a brief description designed to give the reader a general idea of the topic and its current state of development.

Classification Description: A brief description of the merits of each report.

Condensed Report: So that visitors do not have to trust the author of a report regarding the presentation of information, reports are written with an emphasis on quoting the original source material as much as possible. Sometimes explanations of the scientific terminology used in the original source material can make the reports rather lengthy. Sometime other issues can make the reports rather lengthy. When this occurs a Condensed Report is provided so that visitors can get an appreciation for the fullness of the topic without having to read so much material. Condensed reports use less technical language, provide less explanation, and do not emphasize quoting the original sources.

Report: This section is intended to provide a comprehensive analysis of the topic. Some topics relate to issues that are not settled aspects of science within the scholarly community. As the science develops updates to the reports will be made. This is a natural part of the process for this type of undertaking. "Update" tags inform the reader regarding the last time that work on the topic was posted. If you come across material on a topic that has developed since the last update, please pass it along.

Raw Data: This section provides information and links to information that may have been used to write the reports. Raw Data for the purposes of this site has little, if anything, to do with the way this term is used in the scientific and scholarly communities. It simply stands for anything that was found during the research process in preparing the report.
