Syllabus Created, Guest Lecture Scheduled
Halbert was asked to prepare a syllabus on The Urantia Book by World Religions professor, Lyone Fein, for her class at Denison University in Ohio . She spends one day on The Urantia Book during the New Religions section of the course. Halbert will also be a guest lecturer there on November 26 when the class covers this material. The syllabus provided for the class and now made available to UBtheNEWS visitors provides a general introduction to The Urantia Book. The professor asked that the material focus on our relationship to God and the progressive nature of spiritual life here and in the afterlife.
The syllabus starts with several pages of contextual information written by Halbert. It then quotes roughly thirty pages from The Urantia Book. Bracketed inserts are used to explain terminology that people unfamiliar with The Urantia Book would not understand.
The Professor Fein is also looking into setting up an evening presentation either at Denison University or at Ohio State University. This presentation would be about the UBtheNEWS project. Time and location will be provided when this event materializes.
This syllabus is an excellent introduction to The Urantia Book. The length is not as intimidating as being faced with the whole book. It can be sent via email. Consider who in your life would benefit from learning about The Urantia Book in this way. And please make sure that The Urantia Book readers you know are made aware of this opportunity.
